  • 1 min read

The challenge involves inserting metal objects or wires into the charging or USB ports of Chromebooks, which causes the computer's lithium-ion battery to short-circuit, overheat and smoke. In some cases, it leads to what's called thermal runaway, an uncontrollable overheating process that can release toxic gases and projectiles and can cause fires and injuries.
